BEFORE THE FLASH
Before the Flash, a poignant short film written and directed by Mike Lovoi, follows Liz Dunn, a young woman whose world begins to shift as a sudden disaster looms. Old tensions and buried emotions resurface, testing the fragile ties that bind her family together.
Quietly devastating and deeply human, Before the Flash explores the moments before everything changes; the silence between words, the weight of memory, and the unspoken love that endures even through loss.
MEMORIA
Memoria, written and directed by Angel Reyes, follows Dean, a man desperate to recover his lost memories and uncover the truth about what really happened. As fragments of the past begin to surface, the line between reality and illusion blurs, and the answers he seeks may be more dangerous than the mystery itself.
Jackie Vlahos portrays Anna, Dean’s wife, whose presence is both comforting and haunting as his search for the truth spirals into obsession. Tense, intimate, and disorienting, Memoria is a gripping exploration of memory, guilt, and the stories we tell ourselves to survive.
EYE TO EYE
A powerful new one-act play featured in the Chain Theatre One Act Festival and produced by African Theater Inc., Eye to Eye explores the delicate shift from misunderstanding to connection between two unlikely roommates. Written and directed by Taiwo Aloba, the piece blends sharp dialogue and emotional nuance to capture a quiet but deeply human transformation.
Jackie Vlahos stars as Samantha, a woman who initially seems oblivious to her roommate's inner world. As tensions build and truths surface, she’s forced to confront her own biases. What begins as emotional distance unravels into empathy, as both women discover what it means to truly see, and be seen.
GOOD KNIGHT
Good Knight, written and directed by Adam Kiss, is a neo-noir mystery thriller that follows a private investigator whose assignment takes an unexpected turn when he falls for the woman he was hired to find. Tension builds as secrets unravel, and the line between duty and desire begins to blur.
Jackie Vlahos appears as Michelle, an enigmatic young woman introduced in a quiet backyard scene. Emerging from a pool with calm self-possession, Michelle offers a glimpse into the layered, emotionally charged atmosphere that defines the film.
HABITS OF TARDINESS
A raw and quietly powerful short film written and directed by Eugenie Min for NYU Tisch, Habits of Tardiness follows Francesca, a recent college graduate struggling to keep her life in forward motion. But when a chance encounter forces her to confront a toxic ex from her past, memories of trauma she’s tried to suppress resurface, and threaten to derail her fragile sense of control.
The film navigates the emotional aftermath of assault with sensitivity and restraint, shedding light on the quiet, complicated ways survivors live with the past.
THE GUILT THAT FOLLOWS
A heartfelt short film written and directed by Alejandro Londono, The Guilt That Follows follows Daniel Reed, a young man spiraling after the death of his terminally ill mother, the only family he had. Consumed by guilt over their final moments, Daniel turns to an NA group in search of healing.
Jackie Vlahos plays Nina, a fellow recovering addict whose quiet strength and openness help guide Daniel through his grief. Together, they explore the painful, necessary path toward forgiveness and self-redemption.
